The starting point of an early morning hike in search of beautiful light and landscapes, not too far from home, but enough for an early and hard wake!

You got the point: I'm looking it on my iPhone now and it looks darker then on my laptop LCD screen, where I can see many shades of black and blue and much more city lights (and it's a really cheap and old PC).
To be honest what my eyes really saw was an even darker landscape than what you can see in this panorama: it was 40 minutes before sunrise with almost New moon; but you know, there's always the tempation to get a surprising result, so I made an HDR post-production starting by RAW pictures.
I couldn't force Dynamic Range too much, since having shot high ISO, noise was terribly disturbing, so I chose a trade-off.
I'm curious to know also other A-P friends opinion: better fidelity or creativity? Is it dark on your videos or not? Which kind of video are you using?
Cheers
Marco
First of all: I realy like the pano, darkness is darkness and a sunrise is always athrilling moment which is hard to catch.
Heinz is of course right, that most of the PC monitors around are insufficient. But it has to be kept in mind, that these are of course also the monitors most of us are creating pictures on.
Here is another convenient link to check the capabilities of a monitor : http://www.photoindustrie-verband.de/dq-tool
kind regards
Christoph
Heinz suggestion was particularly useful to test the "dynamic range" of my monitor.
In some of the next panoramas you'll find other pictures shot during sunrise, so maybe we can continue our discussion ;-)
Tschuess
